Michelle Barton started Clementine Bakery with a few bucks and a book of vegan recipes. Simple baked goods made with love and seasonal ingredients. Our goal is to satisfy your taste buds by using healthy and fresh ingredients that are 100% vegan. Each small batch is individually handmade by our bakers to ensure the tastiest treats in Brooklyn.
who is michelle barton?
Michelle has been baking professionally for the last decade. Before that, she worked in the fashion industry, but she has always loved baking and cooking. Michelle opened Clementine Bakery in Bed-Stuy in 2012 in a tiny storefront on Greene Avenue, baking treats and custom cakes. In 2016, she expanded into the space next door at the corner of Greene and Classon to create a cafe. In Summer 2017 Michelle added a non-dairy ice cream stand to the original Clementine space. Clementine baked goods are also available at Blossom Du Jour and Alt Eats Café. Michelle lives with her daughter Izzy in Bed Stuy. Her favorite pastry at Clem are the savory danishes.
